Who and why? Vote the man that had the most influence on your life so far...
PS: We won't put them on a scale or say one is greater than the others...Everyone has it's own period of glory...

Well if I had to pick I don't know who I would pick because three of them I guess would of haved the biggest influence (David, Paul, and Job). But if I had to pick I guess I would have to say.....Well david because he just longed after God the Bible even says he was a man after God's heart, Job because he lost everything and yet he didn't turn his back on God even when his friends and wife was telling him to, and Paul because well he being a Jew (I believe I am right in saying that?) and extremely intellingent in book smart was confronted my Jesus and gave up everything to preach the gospel to us Gentiles. But who was the most important or who influenced my life the most I would have to say.....I think Job.

Why wouldn't Job turn His back on the Lord?

Excellent question. I mean I can't give the correct answer because I am not Job nor was I in his position. See for me I find it hard to want to turn my back on God because (believe it or not) I have had extemely hard times in my life (and probably some to come) and even though I didn't understand God, he kept a hold of me and kept bringing me back to him. Now my problem(s) weren't any where near Job's diaster/troubles but mine were some what similar that I was able to make a connection between Job's and mine. What I'm attempting to say is that with my personal experience I find it harder to see why he would turn his back but I not saying he couldn't. I do believe there is no right or wrong answer here unless you are Job. Only Job or God could answer this question with the right answer. Do you get what I am trying to say?

I picked David because he is known as being a man after God's own heart. that is something that i strive for. But i also think he is an excellent example of forgiveness, because God still called him a man after his own heart even after what he did with Bathsheba. this gives me hope that God will forgive (even though i might suffer some consequences) when i mess up.
april, you confuse me!

I'm sorry!!! I am concrete random. What are you confused about? Yeah. I like David to but the more I do think about it Job does fit best with my personal experiences. I think it's unbelieveable how we have a God that is willing to forgive someone and still say that person is a person after mine own heart.

okay. I was wondering...I know how David, Joseph, Abraham, Solomon, and Paul all extemly affect Christian lives but how do Daniel and Job affect Christian lives. David: From the line of David the Messiah would come Solomon: The offspring of David and the line which would continue to the line of Jesus Abraham: Through him all nation will be blessed: Arabs, Jews, and Gentiles (everyone else) Moses: The law Paul: Spreading the Gospel to the Gentiles Joseph: The Israelites into Eygpt But Job: Daniel: Maybe it will make some of you think but then again maybe not.

well one answer i think is that that help us, as Christians, because they serve as examples of people who lived faithfully and persevered. they still have influence, even though they didnt physically lead to a specific thing/event (such as the birth of Christ).

I find it very interseting that Solomon the wisest man ever to be. Was so wise yet he did not listen to God when God told him not to have so many wives and let them have their gods. But how was it that he could have such wisdom and good judgement but not listen to God? It seem to contridict itself.

well....nowdays we say that it`s the parents` fault if the child doesn`t have a proper life... we can consider solomon such a child...look at his family..at David..even if God loved him and He considered david as His friend...David had a horrible family life...one of his sons tried to kill him , other wraped his own sister...

no one can be perfect, no matter how wise they are. we all make mistakes. we just need to strive to follow God's will and when we fail, God forgives us and we start again!
