Which one of you felt that sometimes God is actually speaking to you through His Word...The word. Jesus is the word By His word the storm stopped it's rage When He spoke the devils ran By His word all things came to life...
No wonder he has chosen this way for us to share His own words...isn't it marvelous?!
Keep His word close to your heart (As David used to say) and expect something to happen!

Sometime I feel that God is speaking to me through His Word but not all the time. Well I mean He is but I don't realize it. Probably because I grew up in a christian home and backround and everything around me has to do with Christ. Not that it's a bad thing but that it can dull you senses to hearing God or realizing something. I usually see God speaking to me through everyday experience. Such as friends, family, nature (which is extremely big for me cause I love it outside although you would never know that) and sometimes even by the TV and music I listen to. Strange but I find it interesting and amazing how God speaks to us all in a different way.

When sorting some books i could read an interesting title: "The dangers of growing up in a christian home"... We tend to take all we have for granted and forget a lot of things...

I agree with what both of you are saying. Even my Bible teacher, Mrs. Horning (who you meet Sergiu) says that us who grew up in a christian home, went to church there whole life, and everything had to do with God and Christ they (we/I) become somewhat (is this the right word) dull to our senses of what we did know and what is knew. I, at least, when I hear something and it actually is new I think I've known it all my life but really I didn't.
Please don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that it's not good for people to grow up in a christian home and christian background but instead I trying to say it has it's advantages and disadvantages. I mean I love being able to go to a christian school. I truthfully have to say if I didn't I don't think I would have the same moral values and most likely would want to get out of the christian faith/religion because I have seen what some christians have done to other believers or non-believers and it does make me sort of sick in the stomach to see that happen.

I agree with Sergiu that we do take a lot of things for granted. most, if not all, the people that i am surrounded by are christians. many times i do not realize how great that is and then something will happen, and i am like WOW! it can be a dangerous situation to be in, but my hope is that someday God will use my knowledge of the Bible and of him when i am not surrounded by believers.

Do any of you know what spiritual gift you have? They're listed in 1 Corinthians 12.
Why is the Book of John so convicting to many unbelievers and believers? Why not Matthew or Mark or even Luke?

My volleyball coach shared this really cool thing she heard on the radio. I believe it was the radio. BUt it came from Isaiah 40:31 " They will soar on the wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint." She said that an eagle waits for the wind and then lets the wind carry it off. So the eagle glides on the wind and letting the wind be it's support. So we, as Christians, should wait on the Lord and let him tell us where to go and then let him carry us off into that direction. Allowing him to be our support.

It's very nice you have school teachers who share bible thoughts with you. It's a great advantage to learn in a christian school...

I agree. I wouldn't want to go to a public school myself. I am glad my parents decided to send me to a christian school.

Oh. That's sad to hear. Our school all our teachers are christians and all the students at our school, well they may not be christians but one of their parents has to go to church in order to come to our school. Unless that changed, which I don't think it did. (Did it Karin?)

I don't know, but i know you have to say that you are a believer in order to come. But it is so sad that some do not live christian lives. they know all the answers because of bible class, but they do not live as christians. it is so hard to know how to help them because they know that what they are doing is wrong. But mostly everyone lives as christians.
